How to delete screenshots on iPhone

In current Photos layouts, look for Screenshots under Media Types in Collections. On older layouts, start from Albums. The location depends on your iOS version.

Separate expired information from records you must retain. Save useful text to a note, or keep the original screenshot in an album. A photo of a document can still be important even when it is old.

With iCloud Photos, deletion also affects your synced devices. Keep a separate copy of important records first.

1. Open the Screenshots collection.
2. Choose Select.
3. Mark only the captures you have checked.
4. Use the trash control and confirm the deletion.
5. Check your library for any screenshot you intended to keep.

Start with a small batch. If you select the wrong image, use Recently Deleted to recover it before its recovery window ends.

1. Allow photo access and complete a library scan.
2. Open the screenshot bundle available in your results.
3. Review each suggestion before you choose Keep or Remove.
4. Check the final selection before you confirm.

The app lets you review one chosen bundle free. If you already used that choice for another bundle, further access may require a purchase. Scan coverage and photo permissions affect which items appear.
